On Wednesday morning the news came out through French outlet 'L'Equipe' that Silva would be dropped for PSG's huge clash with the Spanish giants at the Bernabeu, in favour of the younger Presnel Kimpembe. Later that same day the Brazil international posted a message on his Instagram seemingly in response to Emery's decision.
The veteran centre-back's post translated to "God help me to improve", which appears to be in relation to Unai Emery's resounding decision to leave him out of the PSG starting eleven with the head coach opting for a partnership of Kimpembe and Marquinhos instead.
Emery's decision must have come as a shock to the Brazilian, being one of the most experienced players at the club, and this being the biggest game of PSG's season so far.
The Parisian team are set to test their European aspirations against the current Champions League holders at the famous Madrid stadium. Neymar, Mbappé, Cavani and co. will attempt to conquer the fortress, while Thiago Silva will do nothing but hope that "God helps him to improve".
