"If you look at the players who play in midfield for Real Madrid and Barcelona, none of them are better than Christian Eriksen. When Luka Modric arrived at Madrid from Tottenham, he wasn't as good as him (Eriksen)," Hareide claimed, speaking to 'Ritzau'.
Apart from establishing himself at Tottenham in the Premier League, the 26-year-old also secured his nation's qualification for the World Cup, providing eleven goals and three assists during qualification, including a hat-trick against Ireland.
"I believe he is the type of player that can adapt to anything. Give him the ball and the ball will talk for him, regardless of where he is playing. He gets better when he plays with better players," he stated.
Hareide understands why Eriksen is at Tottenham, however. "He has progressed a lot under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham," he said. "A team that plays very well, and which inspires us. Also, now they have a new stadium, so why not stay in London."
Speaking to the same news outlet whilst out on international duty, Eriksen played down talk of a move. "To be honest, I don't think about a change of club for a second," he said.
"Everyone has their dreams, but it's only realistic for these things to happen when there's an offer on the table. At the moment, most players are happy at Tottenham, and I am too."
Denmark, who face Panama and Chile in upcoming friendlies, are in Group C at the World Cup, and will play France, Peru and Australia.
