The Catalan side announced the agreement on Friday, with the Barca academy product signing a fresh four-and-a-half year deal with the club.
The contract also sees the player's release clause rise from €40m to €500m, demonstrating Roberto's growing importance to the club.
Roberto has once again demonstrated his love for the club that he has represented since he was just 14, when he joined Barca's academy ranks from Nastic de Tarragona.
The 25-year-old made his debut for Barca back in November 2010, under Pep Guardiola in a 5-1 Copa del Rey victory over Celta Vigo.
Since then, the midfielder-cum-right-back has made 178 appearances for the club, scoring seven times, including a memorable late goal in Barca's historic 6-1 Champions League triumph against PSG.
Despite his relatively tender years, Roberto has already won: four La Ligas, two Champions Leagues, four Copa del Reys, four Spanish Super Cups, two European Super Cups and two Club World Cups.
Roberto has underlined his importance to Barca this season under Ernesto Valverde, making 25 appearances, scoring one and laying on seven assists in the process.
