The Swedish striker was released from his Manchester United contract on Thursday, after almost two seasons at Old Trafford where he helped the club to win the League Cup and the Europa League.
It will come as little surprise to anyone reading the papers in LA this morning as, before official announcement of the transfer by the club, Ibrahimovic took out a full page advertisment in the 'Los Angeles Times' to announce his arrival.
"I decided to sign with Galaxy because I think it's the right place for me," he said to 'Sky Sports.' "I think I have a lot to give, I can help them a lot. It's the best team in the US. There were no doubts.
Ibrahimovic joins the Galaxy just weeks into the new MLS Season, and could line up in their colours for the derby against new rivals LAFC on March 31st.
He joins an illustrious list of players to have played for the Californian club, including David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard.
