Leo Messi often comes out in support of charitable causes, especially if the charity has to do with childrens' issues. The Argentinian was one of the first to come out in support of these little heroes in their fight against cancer.
Through his webpage, the Barcelona number ten launched an art competition, promising to sign and auction off the best drawing/painting submitted and donate the proceeds to the construction of the Barcelona Paediatric Cancer Centre.
His teammate Jordi Alba also got involved, posting a video on his Twitter calling for his followers to get involved in a large-scale sweet sale for the same cause.
If we are talking about players who dedicate themselves to charitable causes, we cannot go on without mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward frequently pledges his support to these sort of causes, and he showed this again on Thursday.
The Real Madrid star is an ambassador for 'Save the Children', and he used his social media presence to ask for people to donate money to refugee children in Myanmar. He posted two pictures, one of a refugee family, and one of him with his own family.
"One World where we all love out children. Please help", he wrote above the images.
