“Criticism affects me precisely zero, if it did affect me I would not be able to do this job,” Enrique said during a press conference ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Leganes.
“We [within the team] are the first ones to criticise ourselves. There is an important distance between you [the media] and myself.”
“My body of work is all the endorsement I need, if someone likes it fine, if not then that’s fine too.”
Enrique also dismissed speculation that his departure from the Barcelona bench is a foregone conclusion in the event Barcelona fail to overturn the 4-goal deficit in the return leg against PSG and their Champions League campaign ends prematurely.
“The one thing that’s clear is that my decision will have nothing to do with what is going to happen in these months,” the coach, who current coach with the club expires on 30 June, said.
“What happens in one game, or even in 10 games, is not going to influence my decision.
“And no, I have not made my decision yet.”
