Since the Brazil international moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017, there has been lots of speculation that one of the reasons for his departure from Barcelona was to step out of Lionel Messi's shadow.
However, footballer-turned-pundit Henry believes this is an impossible dream and was quite blunt about the subject when talking 'Marca', after watching 'Los Cules' salvage a 1-1 draw with their Premier League opposition.
"I don't know if Neymar left Barcelona to get out of Messi's shadow. What is true is that all players are in Messi's shadow, and if Neymar doesn't want to be, he should change sport".
One could argue that Henry is slightly biased given he knows the Argentine forward extremely well thanks to his spell at the Catalan club, during which he won plenty of silverware. Nonetheless, the comment does seem to follow a pattern of controversy surrounding Neymar, who has as many fans as he does critics.
