In 2014, Zinchenko left Shakhtar due to conflict in the region. Now, the Ukranian youngster is set to play in his first League Cup Final.
Zinchenko made his debut earlier in the season in the same competition against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Thus fur, he has featured eight times for City.
Following Benhamin Mendy's knee injury and Fabian Delph's red card against Wigan that makes the Englishman noneligible for the tie, the Ukranian youngster now looks set to play in his first League Cup Final.
Zinchenko's career has been unlike any other. After fleeing Ukraine, he moved with his family to Russia and endured a period training by himself on the streets of Moscow. The youngster then secured a deal with Ufa where he played for just over a year before City game knocking.
The youngster is also a regular with his national side, playing all three games for Ukraine at Euro 2016. Zinchenko currently holds the record for the youngest player to find the net for Ukraine after bettering Chelsea and AC Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko's feat.
Sunday could prove to be a momentous occassion for the Ukrainian as his team goes in pursuit of a Premier League - Champions League - Carabao Cup treble.
