Barcelona: Andres Iniesta is likely to start in what will be his final game for the club whilst Sergi Roberto misses out through suspension.
Talisman Lionel Messi could be rested due to mounting pressure from Argentina ahead of the World Cup. Thomas Vermaelen is sidelined (hamstring) though, meanwhile, his defensive partner Samuel Umtiti faces a late fitness battle.
Real Sociedad: The La Liga outfit have their own departing players who they will hope to give a perfect send-off. Defender Carlos Martinez is leaving whilst captain Xabi Prieto is retiring, both are expected to play some part.
However, David Concha, Jon Guridi, Imanol Agirretxe, Aritz Elustondo, Igor Zubeldia and Adnan Januzaj are all likely to miss out through injury.
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde on Iniesta's final match:
"We want to finish the year well against a good team. It is an important game for all blaugranas because of what Andres Iniesta means and we want to end with a victory.
"We won't get a replica of Andres Iniesta. We have players like Denis Suarez, (Carles) Alena or (Philippe) Coutinho, who are similar but a little more attack-minded. All of us will have to make up for his absence together.
Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil on his opposing number:
"[Valverde] is the best coach Barcelona have ever had, for all he's done this year, that says a lot about him. He's proven to be a great coach and reference".
