There are significant rumours that Antoine Griezmann will be leaving Atletico Madrid in summer, with his destination tipped to be FC Barcelona.
However, while the transfer saga rumbles on, Atletico are developping a plan to hold onto their star man.
As reported by Spanish outlet 'La Razon', Atletico, with Miguel Angel Gil at their head, are planning on doing everything they can to keep the Frenchman, and have placed a huge offer on the table.
The club's method of convincing the forward to stay put consists of a massive new contract that would see the player earn €20million per season. The club are also aware that Griezmannn's current €100m release clause is a mouthwatering sight for interested clubs, and will look to change it.
Meanwhile, the footballer himself has come out in 'L'Equipe' to say that he wants his future sorted before the start of the World Cup in Russia, saying: "My future will be decided before the World Cup, I want to travel to Russia without any worries."
Aside from sporting objectives, Atletico's main goal is now to convince their star man to stay.
