The majority of Moore's career was spent donning the claret and blue of West Ham. The Englishman made 644 appearances in total for the Hammers, scoring 27 times.
His old side are set to unveil a mural at the London Stadium dedicated to their legendary No. 6, a number that the club has since retired to honour Moore's legacy.
The mural will carry the moving message '25 years gone. Never forgotten.'
Mark Noble, who now wears the captain's armband that became emblematic of Moore's career with the Hammers, told 'Sky Sports': "To have someone associated with this club like Bobby - obviously the only person to lift a World Cup as captain of England - he brings legendary status to this club, to this nation really."
"For me personally, to be a West Ham fan, to captain this great club and to be associated with him is phenomenal," Noble added.
Moore earned 108 caps for his national side and is widely regarded as the greatest defender to ever pull on a Three Lions jersey. England took to Twitter to pay tribute to their 'imperial defender' and World Cup hero.
