After five months away from the United first team, Luke Shaw is finally set for his return to the fold after recovering from injury.
The £31m defender has recovered from ligament damage in his foot, and could play a part against Burton Albion in United's Carabao Cup opener at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Mourinho confirmed that the left-back was back in full contention, but also made it clear that he would have to fight for his place in the United set up if he wanted to play.
"Everyone is training hard because everyone wants to be on that pitch in the important games. We're all fighting for a place and now it's my time to fight for my place," said Shaw.
