Everton: Midfielder James McCarthy is edging close to a return after completing 45 minutes for the U23s earlier this week but this game will come just too early for him. Long-term absentees Ross Barkley (groin), Yannick Bolasie (knee), Ramiro Funes Mori (knee) and Seamus Coleman (broken leg) all remain unavailable to Ronald Koeman, with Everton in bad need of a result to keep themselves in with a chance of advancing to the knockout stages. Aaron Lennon remains on the the sidelines with an unspecified niggle, whilst young defnder Jonjoe Kenny is a doubt. Striker Oumar Niasse is ineligible, having not been named in Everton's Europa League squad.
Lyon: The visitors are expected to have a fully-fit squad to choose from, with the exception of Pape Cheikh who has missed the club's last six games with an ankle problem. Former Manchester United man Memphis Depay likely to start the game, whilst fellow ex-red devil Rafael will likely have to make do with a place on the bench.
Did you know: This will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides. Everton have won seven of their last nine league games in European competitions (W7, D1, L1).
Possible line-ups:
Everton: Stekelenburg, Holgate, Keane, Jagielka, Baines, Besic, Schneiderlin, Klaassen, Sigurdsson, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin
Lyon: Lopes, Tete, Diakhaby, Yanga-Mbiwa, Mendy, Tousart, N'Dombele, Traore, Fekir, Depay, Diaz.
