Borussia Dortmund have rejected an offer from Barcelona for France winger Ousmane Dembele, the Bundelsliga club have confirmed.
Dembele is believed to be one of Barca's top targets to replace Neymar though it appears no move is imminent for the 20-year-old.
Dortmund called a meeting to discuss the offer, as they are duty-bound to inform shareholders of bids over a certain value. The meeting was called, the shareholders were informed and the offer was rejected.
A statement issued by BVB said that Barca's bid "did not correspond to the player's extraordinary footballing value and status as well as to the current economic market situation of the European transfer market. BVB therefore rejected this offer."
News of the offer comes just hours after it emerged that Dembele had gone AWOL from training.
Dortmund boss Peter Bosz told the press: "It's true, he wasn't there today and to be honest I don't know why.
"We tried to reach him, without any success. I hope that nothing bad has happened."
Dortmund have to notify shareholders if Dembele bid is over £90m. They have done, but Barcelona offer rejected.
