Things haven't changed: Atletico stil want to re-sign Costa and the player is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea squad returns for pre-season on July 3rd, meaning that both sides are hoping to see some movement with regard to a move.
Time is running out, and according to 'Cadena COPE', Atletico are hoping to speed the process up. Costa's arrival has supposedly been made one of Diego Simeone's priorities this summer, hence the desire to move the deal along.
It has been well documented that Costa would be unable to play for 'Los Colchoners' until January, this would normally not be a problem, however, with a World Cup on the horizon, Costa needs game time. As a result, Atletico are said to be trying to do a deal that would see the player stay with Chelsea until January, when he would join his new employers. As part of the deal, Chelsea would not be allowed to register the player in their Champions League squad.
For now, the Diego Costa saga continues, but could we finally see an agreement between Chelsea and Ateltico?
